This publication reflects the evolution and expansion of the tourism sector since the creation of studies in Hotel Management and that of the School itself. It is an example of the thematic diversification in the sector, of the present-day need for tourism agents to possess more knowledge, and of a tendency towards better training.

The book explains the importance of planning, entrepreneurship and management: three fundamental aspects of tourism that include the expansion of databases in tourism and catering, the evolution of regulation in the sector, the factors that allow the growth of the tourism model, its competitive advantages and the elements that ensure it functions effectively.

Finally, it reflects on tourism planning in Barcelona: currently a burning topic in the Catalan capital.
