Due to the general strike to be held on Friday 18 October, the UAB will be offering minimum services with the aim of guaranteeing the well-being of university members and the maintenance of services.

Due to the general strike to be held on Friday 18 October, the UAB will be offering minimum services to guarantee the well-being of university members and the maintenance of university services:

  • General archive, registry and certificates office: a minimum of one person will be on duty to offer all essential office services.
  • Unit of Communication: minimum one person will be on duty for the duration of the general strike.
  • Stable services: minimum one person will be on duty for the duration of the general strike.
  • Animal farm: minimum one person will be on duty for the duration of the general strike.
  • All work centres will remain open.


In addition to these measures, the Governing team, in continuation to the information note made public on Monday 14 October and within the context of the continuous protests against the Supreme Court's recent ruling, urges lecturers to postpone all evaluable academic activities and the mandatory attendance of students during this entire week.

The UAB hosts the European Doctoral School of Demography

Starting this week and until June, the UAB and the Centre for Demographic Studies (CED) will play host to the European Doctoral School of Demography (EDSD), a worldwide leader in demographic studies. Students from 14 different nationalities will attend lectures offered by renowned professors from different European research centres who will be visiting the on-campus CED headquarters.
