The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, in collaboration with the  Cerdanyola City Council, organise for 18 December the 11th edition of the UAB Solidarity Race in support of the La Marató de TV3 fundraiser.

This year's fundraiser will focus on cardiovascular health, since the diseases, including those affecting the heart and arteries and veins, are the main cause of death in developed countries. According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), in 2019 some 18 million deaths were caused by cardiovascular diseases, representing 32% of total deaths worldwide.

Participate by volunteering

In addition to running or walking, there is also the chance to participate as a volunteer, helping in organisational tasks and logistics, such as handing out dorsals and T-shirts. That is why the Fundació Autònoma Solidària (FAS), coordinator of the race, is inviting students, administration staff and lecturers and researchers to collaborate.

Races

Different races will be offered on 18 December: a 6 km walk, a 6 km and an 11.6 km run, a 480 m reduced mobility race, and a race for the yougest members of the family.

The first participants will start the race at 10:15 a.m. from the UAB's Vila Universitària, which will also be the finish line.
