UAB opens a new call for predoctoral and postdoctoral grants

Fifth call for predoctoral research grants

UAB announces its fifth call for predoctoral research grants for staff in training in different University departments. Grant holders will enrol in a doctoral programme or official master's degree offered at UAB in order to work on their doctoral thesis. Applications can be submitted until 18 May 2009.

When the grants are awarded, those receiving a grant must hold a four-year degree (llicenciatura), advanced engineering/architecture degree (enginyeria/arquitectura superior ) or an equivalent degree from a foreign institution. Beneficiaries of the grants must enrol in one of UAB's official master's degree or doctoral programmes.

The duration of the grant period is 4 years. Each grant will amount to €12,334 per year during the first two years and €17,329 per year during the last two years. Applications must be submitted between 23 and 18 May 2009.

The provisional list of selected candidates and provisional waiting list will be published on 2 July 2009 and all final lists will be published on 16 July 2009. Third call for postdoctoral research placements

The UAB announces its third call for 14 postdoctoral temporary research placements in departments and institutes of the University. These placements are co-financed by Banco Santander.

The duration of the contract is for a period of one year and may be extended one additional year, except in the case of the type of interruption outlined in the call. Incorporation must take place in the first three months of 2010 on the signing of the corresponding employment contract.

The gross annual amount of the grant is €26,639 per year and payment is made in 14 instalments per year. Applications and related documents must be submitted from 11 to 24 May 2009. The final decision on the call will be made public in the month of September.
