UAB 2011-2015 Sustainability Action Plan

27/09/2010
The new document will be a follow-up to the 2007-2010 Sustainable Growth Action Plan, which included 5 strategic lines, 10 programmes and 61 actions, under the Agenda 21 framework. The Plan will be a strategic document defining the actions university must carry out in the field of environmental sustainability, in such important aspects as management of natural surroundings, residues and mobility, as well as energy efficiency, environmental communication to and with the university community, etc.
In the first phase of the process, an environmental diagnosis of the University was carried out to assess its state in different sustainability dimensions in 2010. The document will serve as the basis to create the new Action Plan.
The university community is free to participate in the design of the new Plan by visiting the blog http://blogs.uab.cat/sostenibilitatuab/ or by sending comments by e-mail to medi.ambient@uab.cat.
In the 15 environmental information points set up in different UAB centres one can also find weekly updates on several types of environmental diagnoses (environmental communication, urban planning and biodiversity, mobility and residue management, and environmentalisation) as well as indications for those interested in participating in the draft of the new Action Plan.
Information on the entire process of elaboration can be consulted at the website of UAB's Agenda 21.
