Two CIMITEC researchers among the top 100 in their field according to Microsoft Academic

Jordi Bonache and Ferran Martín, members of CIMITEC (a member of the TECNIO Centre) and lecturers of the Department of Electronic Engineering at UAB, rank among the top 100 researchers in scientific production and impact in the field of Electrical and Electronic Engineering in the past 10 years, according to the ranking of the search engine Microsoft Academic Search.

In the past decade, Jordi Bonache and Ferran Martín have focused their research activities on the field of microwave engineering, specifying in the development of new components, communication circuits and aerials based on concepts derived from metamaterials. The two researchers have the highest number of citations in the leading journals of their specialisation, IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques and IEEE Microwave and Wireless Components Letters, with eight publications ranking among the 10 most referenced articles by Spanish researchers in these journals in the past ten years, according to Web of Knowledge.

One of the research articles (published in 2005 and with 214 citations) occupies 8th place in articles with most citations in IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques worldwide in the past ten years, and another (published in 2004 and with 177 citations) occupies 2nd place in the journal IEEE Microwave and Wireless Components Letters. Ferran Martín and Jordi Bonache rank in first and third position in the list of authors from Spain with the largest amount of scientific production published in these two journals in the past ten years.
