The UAB will take part in the Saint John’s Eve concert of Xarxa Vives with a piece of the student society Artencurs

Next Wednesday, on the occasion of Saint John’s Eve, 14 universities will offer an online concert coordinated by Xarxa Vives, in which representatives from different universities will sing to thank the entire university community for the effort carried out during the last few months.

Artencurs will represent the UAB in the concert “musical poetry” organized by Xarxa Vives to thank the entire university community for the effort carried out during the lasts weeks. The students of this association will sing poems by Blanca Llum Vidal, a young artist that does not leave anyone indifferent. She has published two collections of poems La cabra que hi havia and Homes i ocells and has participated in different homage projects to other poets.

This student society is formed by students from different majors, most of them study in the faculty of Arts and Humanities, and it is registered in elDirectori of Community Involvement unit of the UAB. This association will be in charge of closing the event, by 1:40 pm. It could be seen at the Instagram account @artencurs_uab. Clàudia Díez will recite the poem “1634”, accompanied with the duet of contemporary dance Èric Bermúdez and Adriana Gallego. Marc Martínez will play the piece “Com tenalles” at the piano. Amanda Majón and Laura Menses will recite, among other poems, “Concéntrate y di”.  Marc Mariner, with “Per això” will put an end to the event.

Beyond Artencurs' performance, from 11:30 am it will also be possible to follow the proposals of the other participating universities. They will recite authors such as Vicente Andrés Estellés, Miquel Martí i Pol or Shakespeare. In the concert we will also be able to listen to versions of songs well known as "Paraules d'amor" by Joan Manel Serrat; "Amor particular", by Lluís Llach; or "Compta amb mi", by Txarango; and the performance of groups such as El Diluvi, which will sing its version of "I tu, sols tu".

In this way the UAB joins other universities of Catalonia, Valencia and the Balearic Islands in this concert that will also serve to reaffirm that only through education, science and culture can we respond to the challenges we face collectively.
