The UAB ranks 94 worldwide in Arts & Humanities

The THE-WUR by Subject ranking was recently published. This ranking includes 11 academic areas and is based on the THE global ranking, with 13 grouped indicators under five criteria sections (citations, private funding, internationalisation, research and academics) which each hold a different weight according to the area analysed.

The classification places the UAB in 94th position worldwide in the area of Arts & Humanities, while in the areas of Social Sciences and Business & Economics, the UAB finds itself in the 101 to 125 group; in Psychology, in the 126 to 150 group; in Education, in the 151 to 175 group; and in Medicine it ranks in the 176 to 200 group.

In comparison to other universities located in Spain, the UAB is the top university in Arts & Humanities, Physical Sciences, Social Sciences, and Education, and ranks second in Life Sciences, Business & Economics, Engineering, Medicine and Psychology.

The ranking, which in the general edition placed the UAB in position 170 worldwide, considers that the minimum number of papers published by a university to be included in the list is 1000 in the past five years, except for the technology and engineering and computer areas, in which the number is 500. At the same time, in order to include a university in the ranking of a specific area, the university must have at least 5% of its academic and research staff working in that area, with the exception of the engineering and computer areas, in which case the minimum is 4%.
