On 14 February, from 9 to 11 a.m., the UAB raised €5,076 in a supportive initiative to raise money for research projects conducted at the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu Barcelona, a leading hospital in children's and maternal healthcare. The UAB is the first university to join the initiative in which other education centres already participate.

In order to carry out this supportive initiative, the UAB received the help of catering services Aramark, Clece and Grup Soteras, and of Xocolates Torras, who provided all the necessary ingredients. The almost 3,000 hot chocolate servings (approximately 600 litres) and sweet fingers prepared to be sold on Thursday were served by volunteers at ten different locations of the UAB (Communication, Education and Translation and Interpreting, Engineering, Arts and Humanities, Psychology, Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Rectorat building, Sabadell campus and between the buildings of Sciences and Biosciences and Social Sciences). Each serving cost a minimum donation of two euros which were deposited in the boxes located next to the hot chocolate stands and later delivered directly to the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu.
