The UAB occupies 143rd position in the Best Global Universities ranking

The UAB ranks 143rd top university in the world according to the Best Global Universities ranking, published by the newspaper U.S. News, and moves up one position from last year's edition. It ranks 52nd in Europe and is 2nd among universities in Spain.

According to the Best Global Universities (UNG) ranking, published by the newspaper U.S. News, the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona occupies the 143rd position as top university in the world — one point higher than last year's edition — with a global score of 66.8 over 100. The UAB ranks 52nd in Europe and 2nd in Spain.

The top universities in this year's ranking are Harvard University, followed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Stanford University, all three located in the United States. In Spain, the University of Barcelona is at the top of the list, ranking 86 worldwide and 27 in Europe.

With regard to subjects, the UAB is the top university in Spain in Biotechnology and Applied Microbiology, Materials Science, Plant and Animal Science, Environment and Ecology, Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, and Arts and Humanities.

The ranking is based on a set of indicators such as international reputation in research, regional reputation, scientific publications, citations, conferences, and level of international collaborations.
