The UAB fosters the use of bicycles on campus

The UAB has prepared a campaign with the aim of encouraging its university community members to use bicycles on campus. It includes a series of activities and actions to help members increase their use of bicycles as a means of getting around the campus.

One part of the campaign will focus on bike riding to and from campus: "Vine al Campus de la UAB en bicicleta", will take place from 1 April to 10 May. This will consist in the UAB Bike Challenge (Repte Bici UAB), in which participants will be asked to cycle at least 30 kilometres during the days in which the campaign is taking place, and then opt for different prizes that will be offered. To participate, one must download the Ciclogreen app, available for Android and iOs, and use the app to register all bicycle trajectories. More inforamtion on Repte Bici UAB can be found here.

Discounts on bike rentals

Another part of the campaign will take place during the month of April, in which the BiciUAB service will offer 50% discounts off bike rentals to all members of the UAB community.

The BiciUAB service is the main centre for bicycles on campus, located at the FGC-UAB train station, and is set on encouraging more people to use this means of transport, and raise awareness on the importance of more sustainable mobility methods. The service includes not only a bike rental, but also BiciUAB bicycle insurance, assessment, locked bike park, repair services, and a store. The BiciUAB service also includes a repair site, with access to air for tires, and repair tools that anyone can use. 

All members of the UAB are entitled to one yearly check-up. There is no need to ask for an appointment, but all those interested will have to show their UAB or Esfera UAB card.
