The UAB was awarded one of the highest certifications granted by the FISU Healthy Campus, whose objective is to improve all aspects of student wellbeing and of the university community in general.

Healthy Fisu

The UAB is the first in all of the Spanish State to obtain a Gold-certified label by the FISU Healthy Campus. Of the 93 universities participating from all over the world, only five have been awarded a GOLD certification.

Proposed and developed by the International University Sports Federation, the objective of the FISU Healthy Campus programme is to improve all those aspects related with the wellbeing of students and the university community in general. With the aim of reversing the tendency of young adults to compromise their health during their academic years, the initiative is having a positive effect on the lives and lifestyles of university students across the globe. The programme analyses the health of students and university communities with a holistic vision that includes physical state, mental health, diet, sustainability and social responsibility.

The programme reaffirms its belief that universities must strive to provide a welcoming environment and be a gateway that encourages the university community to maintain healthy and sustainable lifestyles, with easy access to knowledge and physical activity, health and nutrition as part of the daily life on campus.

Formed by thirty world experts in student health, the programme is a pioneering global network open to universities wishing to share knowledge, experiences, good practices and ideas.
