The event, organised by lecturers of the Minor in Basque Studies with the collaboration of Cultura en Viu and the dean's office of the Faculty of Arts & Humanities, will take place on Tuesday 30 April at 1 p.m. and forms part of the Literaldia festival and Sant Jordi celebrations.

Imatge de Miren Agur Meabe i Eduardo Moga

The conversation will bring together Basque writer, translator and academic Miren Agur Meabe and poet, translator and literary critic Eduardo Moga. Both authors, renowned for their works, will talk about their poetry and offer a poetry recital, followed by a discussion on literary translation and an open round of questions.

Miren Agur Meabe, member of the Academy of the Basque Language, is an award-winning writer with an extensive body of work ranging from children's literature to poetry. Eduardo Moga, known for his poetry and translations, has recently been honoured with the publication of the book Mago Moga.

The event also aims to promote the UAB's Basque Studies, which offer an updated vision of Basque society and culture. The Minor in Basque Studies is a specific itinerary of the UAB, which is available to the entire university community, with subjects in language, literature and culture.
