The UAB Choir and Orchestra to offer a Spring Concert on 9 June

The UAB Choir and Orchestra will be offering the Spring Concert at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities on Wednesday 9 June at 1:30 p.m. The event will include all necessary safety measures and limited seating. Those interested in attending must first fill out a reservation form.

On Wednesday 9 June, the UAB Orchestra, Choir and Chamber Choir will offer their traditional Spring Concert. The event will take place at 1:30 p.m. at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. Entrance is free, but for health safety reasons, all those interested in attending must first fill out a reservation form

The concert will begin with the UAB Orchestra, directed by Jesús Badia, which will perform a series of pieces, such as the “Masques et bergamasques” (by French composer Gabriel Fauré) and different parts of the suite (Ouverture, Menuet, Gavotte and Pastorale), as well as the song “Oblivion” by Argentinian composer Astor Piazzolla (famous for his soundtrack to the film “Enrico IV”).

Next, the orchestra will team up with the UAB Choir to perform “Ave Maria” by the German Romantic composer Johannes Brahms, which will be followed by performances of the UAB Choir and Chamber Choir, directed by Poire Vallvé. This part of the concert will include several pieces from different periods and styles, including traditional Catalan songs such as “El Rossinyol” and more modern compositions such as “A Little Jazz Mass” (by British composer Bob Chilcott). Choir members will also perform adaptations of contemporary songs such as “When The Party’s Over”, by Billie Eillish.
