The UAB awards the best Final Degree Projects with a gender perspective
On Tuesday 6 May the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) will celebrate an awards ceremony for the best Final Degree Projects (TFG) with a gender perspective for the 2023/24 academic year.

Next Tuesday 6 May the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) will hold an awards ceremony for the best Final Degree Projects (TFG) with a gender perspective for the 2023/24 academic year. The event will take place in the conference hall of the Rectorat building at 12 noon, and will bring together the authors of the awarded projects, their families, faculty tutors and various academic authorities. Registration is required to attend.
The awards, which this year reach their ninth edition, are organised annually by the UAB Equality and Diversity Service, with the support and funding of the Catalan Women's Institute. The main objective of this initiative is to encourage university research from a critical and inclusive perspective, promoting the incorporation of gender perspective in academic analysis and knowledge production.
The event will be chaired by the UAB Secretary General Esther Zapater, and will serve to publicly recognise the effort and quality of the 30 award-winning projects, from different teaching centres and disciplines. The centres with the greatest presence in this edition are the Faculty of Political Science and Sociology, the Faculty of arts & Humanities, the Faculty of Law, and the Faculty of Communication Studies, all of them particularly involved in research with a gender focus.
The authors of the winning TFGs will receive a diploma issued by the UAB Equality and Diversity Service and a special gift offered thanks to the sponsorship of the Catalan Women's Institute.
These awards are not only a recognition of the talent and commitment of the student body, but also form part of the institutional strategy to move towards a more egalitarian, fair and sensitive to gender inequalities university. Through this call, the UAB reinforces its will to transform knowledge into a tool for equality and social justice, consolidating the gender perspective as a transversal axis in teaching, research and university life.
With this event, the UAB reaffirms its commitment to gender equality and celebrates the work of students who contribute, from their disciplines, to building a university that is more inclusive and critical with structural discriminations.
