The UAB announces the winners of the "Thesis in 4 Minutes" competition

Camille Noé Servin, student of the PhD programme in Psychiatry, won first prize in the UAB's "Thesis in 4 Minutes" competition. First prize includes a cash prize of 800 euros, and the chance to represent the University in the final competition, organised by the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation, on 22 June at the CaixaFòrum in Lleida.

The winner of the first prize of the competition was Camille Noé Servin, who is preparing her PhD thesis on how the brain changes during pregnancy. She was awarded a cash prize of 800 euros.

Camille Noé Servin will participate in representation of the UAB in the "Present your Thesis in 4 Minutes" competition final, which will take place on 22 June. The competition, organised by the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation, will include the participation of all Catalan universities and will award the top three presentations, with €3,000 and €2,000 for the two top presentations voted on by the jury, and €1,000 for the top presentation voted on by the audience.

The second prize awarded by the jury, with a cash prize of 500 euros, went to Elena Roel, enrolled in the PhD programme in Methodology of Biomedical Research and Public Health, for her work on data analysis in the real world to determine how Covid-19 affects patients with obesity or cancer.

The prize by the audience, with a cash prize of 200 euros, went to Joselyn Godoy, who conducts research on how teachers and physiotherapists can complement their skills in inclusive education through the PhD programme in Education.

The Joan Oró special prize in transmitting values and entrepreneurship, with a cash prize of 300 euros, went to Laia Vila, student of the PhD programme in Neuroscience, who conducts research on emotional memories.

The competition was held in the Carles Perelló Hall of the Doctoral School (and streamed live through the UAB's YouTube channel) and included the participation of 11 PhD students. In addition to the four winners, the students presenting their theses were: 
Gabriel Maroli (Chemistry), Carlos Mayobre Hermo (Plant Biology and Biotechnology), Dorota Mlynarczyk (Mathematics), Alex Romaní Rivera (Person and Society in the Contemporary World), Lucia Verdugo Gonzalez (Food Science), Paula Ferrer Raventós (Neurosciences) and Alexia García Serran (Neurosciences).
