The Ganàpies, the UAB human tower group, celebrates its 25th anniversary during the Winter Performance Day next Thursday

Next Thursday, the Ganàpies celebrates the 25th edition of the Winter Performance Day. Under the slogan “d’oca a oca, construïm juntes la nostra història” (little by little, we build together our history), the student society celebrates its 25th anniversary in a event full of activities during the morning that will culminate with humans towers societies from different universities at 3:30 p.m. at Plaça del Coneixement.

The Ganàpies, the UAB human tower group or colla castellera, is getting ready to celebrate during the Winter Performance Day on Thursday 12^th of December that this year will take place at Plaça del Coneixement. Coincident with its 25^th anniversary, the UAB castellers want to build a seven-level human tower, such as a seven-level tower with two people per level with two bases or a seven-level tower with three people per level with a one person per level tower inside.

During the morning, there will be held several activities. The opening shot will be at 10 a.m. with brunch. Afterwards there will be a card games tournament and parades.

Besides the Ganàpies, other colla castelleres, the Pataquers from the Universitat Rovira Virgili and the Marracos from the Universitat de Lleida also will try to build seven-level human towers. The Penjats from the UPC-Maresa and the Llunàtics from the UPC-Vilanova, the other guests to the event, will try to build six-level human towers.

The Ganàpies face the final stretch of its training with two events, one on Tuesday noon and Wednesday evening, with the two lasts rehearsals and the eves. This will be the fourth performance of the season. The three previous ones were those at Manresa and Mataró and the recurring performance at the UAB Festa Major.
