The Faculty of Translation and Interpreting becomes an international gathering place for contemporary Arabic studies

The Master in Contemporary Arabic Studies has inaugurated its fourth academic year with students who have come from all around the world willing to take their courses fully in Arabic language. The professorship is equally international and from eight different Arabic countries.

It has already been four years since the Master in Contemporary Arabic Studies undertook a unique challenge: to offer a study plan that excels in Arabic language, culture and society. As of today, no other European master can compare to it. Its fourth academic year has begun with the joy of students and teachers being finally able to reunite again.
This Master is taught by a faculty of oustanding academics and professionals from all around the world: Morocco, Algeria, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine and Iraq.. Moreover, the MCAS is one of the few MA programs in Europe taught entirely in Arabic, aiming to promote the students’ Arabic language level from a level B, according to the CEFR, to the highest CEFR level (level C). The sudents also have a very international profile and they come from several different countries: United States, Morocco, France, Egypt, Algeria, Iraq, Spain, Great Britain and the Netherlands.
The professors are not only fluent in Arabic language but they also have a solid academic and professional career which enable them to offer a truthful and honest vision of the contemporary Arabic world. After all, we have a lot in common with the Arabic world and this programme is an excellent opportunity to explore those ties.
