The World AIDS Day is held on 1 December each year with a double objective: on one hand, to raise awareness about the importance of prevention to win the fight against the virus. On the other hand, it intends to create visibility for the people who live with AIDS and to intensify the fight against the stigmas that the virus it carries with it.

The FAS Health Programme, with the support of volunteers, organizes one more year activities that will take place on Tuesday 1 December in the UAB's Plaça Cívica from 12 noon onwards and they will be open to the whole community.

The Solidarity Autonomous Foundation (FAS), through their Health Programme, is a member of the Comitè 1r de Desembre, and joins the campaign "Revolts for prevention" that this year intends to promote prevention, transform it, think it over, turn it around, and make it part of the paradigm of health promotion. Because of this, the Joint Statement of the Comitè will open the event at 12 noon in the Plaça Cívica.

The health volunteers will invite the whole community to take a few minutes to create a giant red ribbon against AIDS in the Plaça Cívica. It is not an isolated action, the intention is for all institutions that are part of the Comitè and any other institution that wants to join in, to create and share their giant ribbons. They can share it on social networks with the hashtag #LlaçosPerlaSida and they can tag @Comite1desembre.

From 12 noon to 3 pm, the health volunteers will organize the Gynkhana "Tu FAS… el joc de la VIHda" an activity to reflect on the HIV, the prevention mechanisms and the stigma that HIV carries. At the end of the activity, the volunteers will give out DM AIDS bags and preventive material in the form of  "The Pleasure Kit".

The event will also have the traditional Xiringu, the information stand managed by the volunteers of the Health Programme about sexuality and drugs.

From 3 pm to 5 pm, the Health Programme will offer the possibility to get a rapid HIV test, with the participation of professional staff from ActuaVallès. The test is anonymous and confidential but it is advisable to make an appointment calling 93. 581.34.55 or sending an email to fas.salut@uab.cat

This year the FAS Health Programme has the support from the Ministry of Health of the Generalitat de Catalunya, which has been recently regularized.
