With the aim of continuing to guarantee all safety measures and prevent COVID-19 contagion among the university community, the UAB informs its members of the general recommendations in the organisation and attendance of mandatory exams at the UAB campus.

Both lecturers and students must follow the basic rules to guarantee a correct and safe exam period at university (mandatory use of masks, limited seating, physical distances, hand washing and disinfecting, etc.)

All windows will remain open while exams are taking place, unless adverse weather conditions make this impossible. It is important for our university members to remember to wear warm and comfortable clothing.

Recommendations for students:

  • Students must follow the indications given by their lecturers at all times.
  • Centres will open 10 minutes before the start of the exam. Students are recommended to remain inside the building the least amount of time necessary.
  • Physical distances must be respected while in the hall, waiting to enter the exam room. Avoid forming large groups when entering and exiting exam rooms.
  • Before entering the room, all students must disinfect their hands with the hidroalcoholic gel which will be made available at the entrance.
  • Students must follow the indications of lecturers and use only designated seats.
  • Masks must be worn correctly at all times.
  • Sharing personal belonging is not allowed.
  • Upon completing the exam, students must collect all of their personal belongings, place the exam on the lecturer's desk and exit the exam room.
  • To avoid the formation of large groups of people in the hallways, all students who have completed their exams must remain silent to respect those still taking their exams and exit the building immediately.

Recommendations for lecturers:

  • When organising the exam, lecturers must take into consideration the number of students attending in order to have the necessary exam rooms and guarantee correct physical distance between students. Seating capacity, which in no case may surpass 50%, should also be reduced as much as possible.
  • In order to avoid the formation of large groups, students must be informed before the start of the exam of where they will be taking the exam (determined either by surname or student ID number).
  • Entrance to the exam rooms must be allowed gradually.
  • Whenever possible, different doors should be used when entering and exiting the exam room.
  • On the day of the exam, exam papers will be handed out by the centre's Logistical Support and Information Point (SLIPI). All material will be handled accroding to health protocols (previously sanitising hands and material).
  • Once inside the exam room, and only if the room does not have a mechanical ventilation system and weather conditions make it impossible to conduct a normal exam process, lecturers will be able to close the windows partially and leave them open about 5 cms wide. When in doubt about the conditions of ventilation please consult the UAB Prevention Services
  • The doors of the exam room must remain open at all times.
  • Once the students are seated, the exam papers will be handed out to students by strictly following all health protocols (previously sanitising hands and material).
  • Lecturers will make sure that all students use the hand sanitizer gel before entering and will distribute the students evenly throughout the exam room.
  • Once all students have completed their exams, the papers will be collected from the table. It is recommended that all exams be put in a tray, box or similar to be able to transport them easily.
  • Students are not allowed to remain in the hallways once they have completed their exam.
  • Entering without a mask is strictly prohibited, except in the case of medical reasons, in which the student must provide an official document as proof. In this case, the student must sit at a greater distance from the rest of students and near a window.
  • Each centre's SLIPI will have masks available should anyone need one at the time in which the exams are taking place.
