PUC: new loan service

From today’s date, 27th of October, the CCUC (Catàleg Col·lectiu de les Universitats de Catalunya) interface has been simplified and shows a single search box, like Google’s.
The search is done by keyword. In the results screen it can be seen where the searched term is in the record: in the title, as an author, topic, etc.
It is possible to apply many filters: language, publication date, place of publication or format. These filters help narrowing the search.

Today there is also the launching of the Consortium Loan service (PUC) among the CBUC libraries (UB, UAB, UPC, UPF, UdL, UdG, UOC i BC).
This free service allows users from these universities to request and borrow documents from CBUC libraries.
The documents may be requested on line through the union catalogue or in person in the library that holds the documents.
When documents are requested through the catalogue the user may choose in which library to pick up the documents.
This service is addressed to first, second and third cycle students, postgraduate students, PDI, PAS and authorised staff. The only requirement is to be a registered library user.
