In 2015 the UAB libraries have added ProQuest Central database to the digital library.
The content of this resource is exceptionally varied: from thousands of journals edited by academic editors and research societies to international newspapers, dissertations and working papers.

Resources are organized in five main areas:

- Databases of economics and finances: some as ABI/Inform Complete was already available in the digital library, but others as OxResearch, ProQuest Asian Business and Reference & Snapshots are new.

- Database of newspapers: includes CBCA Complete or ProQuest Newsstand databases, which index news from a wide range of worldwide newspapers.

- Databases of health sciences: we emphasise ProQuest Health & Medical Complete that we already had available, but we add ProQuest Nursing and Health Management & Allied Health Source, with a significantly increase of our collection in this area.

- Databases of science and technology: with ProQuest Central we will have new resources in the field of telecommunications and informatics: ProQuest Computing and Telecommunications.

- Databases of social sciences: it includes resources for criminal investigation in ProQuest Criminal Justice, magazines on international political relations in ProQuest Political Science, publications on education in ProQuest Education Jounals or documents related to military defense or aeronautics in ProQuest Military Collection.

With ProQuest Central we increase the number of full-text journals, we offer different types of documents as journals, newspapers, reference materials or pre-prints, we have the latest news on key issues, we improve our collection on market reports and we have more resources to teach.

This database is available on the ProQuest platform and can also retrieve the results from Trobador+. Remember that from outside UAB you should use the service ARE.
