Projection and debate about “The Land Between” with its director, David Fedele

Quoting the official web page, "The Land Between", produced, directed, filmed and edited by David Fedele and premiered in 2014, shows the perspective of sub-Saharan people living in the mountains of northern Morocco dreaming to go across the militarized barrier in Melilla and enter Europe. This film documents the everyday life of these migrants trapped in limbo, as well as the extreme violence and constant mistreatment they face from both the Moroccan and Spanish authorities. It also explores many universal questions, including how and why people are prepared to risk everything, including their life, to leave their country, their family and friends, in search of a new and better life.
 
David Fedele David is an award-winning documentary filmmaker, traveler, dreamer, musician, part-time philosopher and full-time incessant thinker. He entered the world of documentary filmmaking through a love of travel and exploring different cultures, having traveled extensively throughout Australia, Europe, the Middle East, South America and Africa. 

Generally working alone, self-producing and self-funding his projects, David is particularly interested in exploring cultural, humanitarian and social justice issues. David’s films have been broadcast widely, and screened at international film festivals around the world, winning numerous awards. His film E-WASTELAND was recently awarded "BEST AUSTRALIAN SHORT DOCUMENTARY" at the Antenna International Documentary Film Festival in Sydney, Australia, and his latest film THE LAND BETWEEN has won awards in France, Italy and Slovenia.
 
Next Monday 17 November, from 12 pm to 2:30 pm, at the Cinema of the UAB, "The Land Between" will be projected in an event organized together with the Fundació Autònoma Solidària and Cultura en Viu. David Fedele will join the event, and he will participate in the debate and he’ll answer the questions of the attendees.
 
Admission will be free and open to everyone (whether from the UAB community or not), but prior registration will be needed through this form.
