Online journal UABDIVULGA begins a new phase

Disseminating the research conducted by UAB researchers has been, since its first publication in May 2003, the mission of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona's science popularisation journal, UABDIVULGA (www.uab.cat/uabdivulga). This communication channel between scientists and society was created to cover the gap detected between the communications addressed to the media and those addressed to the scientific community. Since then, the journal (published in Catalan, Spanish and English) has touched upon a wide range of topics and highlights the diversity of research projects conducted at the university. It now has nearly 2,000 subscribers.
 
Starting in May of this year, the journal has incorporated a design which adapts to new digital devices and has fused with UABINNOVA, the online journal specialising in the latest advances in innovation and knowledge transfer generated by the university and the centres nearby.
 
The large volume of scientific production and transfer at the UAB and the aggregated centres of the UAB Campus of International Excellence make these types of publications very useful to the community and this, in turn, guarantees its continuity. Moreover, the journal now contains an ISSN reference, which permits researchers to provide the reference when listing their articles.
 
The journal's website aims to reach the scientifically curious public: UAB students and students from other universities, secondary school pupils and teachers, scientists from the UAB and elsewhere interested in other disciplines, and professionals with an interest in innovation-related topics. As before, all information published in UABDIVULGA is sent as an electronic bulletin to its subscribers.
