On 2 October, UAB-Casa Convalescència will host the conference Laberintos, which will focus mainly on three important concepts in language learning and teaching: awareness, ubiquitous learning and collaboration.

Laberintos: a conference on language learning and teaching revolves around three major topics: awareness, ubiquitous learning and collaboration. The first of these invites reflection on what it is that leads us to learn something. For teachers, the reflection goes further: what makes us go on to teach what we have learnt?

The second topic to reflect on is where we learn. The use of digital tools has changed our way of interacting with the world around us, mobile devices have opened up a world of possibilities and communication can be taking place anywhere.

And the third question to be discussed is: how do we learn? We can learn by ourselves or in the company of other learners. The question is: how much do we learn by ourselves and how much learning takes place thanks to the others? Collaboration, group creation and the exchange of ideas foster creativity.

The conference starts out from the premise that "it is possible to go into a maze alone; getting out by yourself is another story".

The talks will go on all day, and the speakers will be: Iñaki Calvo, Inmaculada Barbasán, Jaume Brines, Estrella Redondo, María José Solomando and Adelaida Martín.
