Starting this semester, the Aula de dansa is offering two new activities: initiation to swing and modern dance (intermediate level). On the one hand, the Aula de dansa aims to teach choreographic vocabulary and the historic origin of the swing dance style; and on the other hand, it offers those more interested in improving their body awareness and expression with movements intermediate level classes in modern dance.

With regard to theatre, students can choose from: initiation to theatre interpretation and initiation to practical theatre. Here participants will put their creative capacity to the test and can explore their body limits through the theatre. Practical theatre allows participants to become co-creators and gives them tools with which to face and solve different issues related to the creative process.

The activities "voice technique" and "open opera" bring music closer to the university community. In order to sing correctly, one cannot force the voice, and that is why some basic techniques are necessary to acquire adequate posture and breathing while singing. With the "voice technique" activity, students can work these aspects in individual sessions combined with reduced class groups in which to practice posture, articulation, timbre, tuning, etc. In "open opera", students will view some of the operas presented at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in the 2013/14 season and study them through conferences offered by professionals in the field. All those interested can also become member of the UAB Choir and Orchestra during this semester.

One of the film-related activities is "La UAB en cinema negre", a course in which students can create a short having to do with the difficulties of expressing the reality of day-to-day life. Participants will learn and follow the codes of film noir classics.

Those who have the "Viu la Cultura" card can enjoy the discounts and special offers on UAB activities, either by taking part in an activity or attending them. The UAB thus aims to foster and encourage cultural interests and habits, by giving support to artistic training and cultural achievements amongst its university community, as well as offering credit validations for a variety of activities.
