The 11th edition of the 2022 Solidarity Race and Walk, held in support of the La Marató de TV3 on Sunday 18 December, was once again a successful event that turned the UAB campus into a festive and sportive place. Organised by the UAB and the Cerdanyola del Vallès City Council, with the collaboration of the University of Barcelona and Applus+ Laboratories, this year's edition is dedicated to cardiovascular health, the theme chosed by this year's La Marató de TV3. Nearly 1,400 people participated in the four race modalities, and some 100 volunteers also attended to help in management and organisational tasks.

For the first time ever, the University of Barcelona (UB) also joined in to help organise the race and contribute in this manner to La Marató.

This year included four different races: the 11.7 km race, the 6 km race or walk, the 500 m children's race and a 500 m reduced mobility race.

This year, the UAB's Xaranga group livened the event with its music during the whole morning. After the races, the UAB's human tower builders, the Ganàpies, closed the event with a performance at the centre of the Vila Universitària.

The starting and finish lines were located at the Vila Universitària. The long race passed by the Alba Light Synchrotron and the centre of Cerdanyola de Vallès, reaching the city hall and then turning to return to the Vila Universitària.

Participating in the walk were UAB Rector Javier Lafuente and UB Rector Joan Guàrdia, as well as the Mayor of Cerdanyola del Vallès, Carlos Cordón, and the general director of Applus+ Laboratories. Some 100 people also signed up as volunteers to help in organisation and logistical tasks, coordinated by the Fundació Autònoma Solidària. A solidarity fair was also held at the centre of the Vila Universitària.

The winner of the 11 km race was Marc Otero Fernández - who also won the race in 2019 - with a mark of 00:40:00 (men's category) and Irene Perales Martínez (women's category), with a mark of 00:49:59.
