Congrés Internacional 68s
On 29 and 30 November the Born Centre de Cultura i Memòria (Plaça Comercial 12, Barcelona) will play host to the International Conference 68s which commemorates the 50th anniversary of these historical May 1968 events in France. The meeting has been organised by the UAB Research Group on the Franco Era (GREF-CEDID), the Université Paris Lumières and the Born CCM. The conference aims to delve deeper into what is known about the events of May 1968 around the world from a social, political and cultural aspect, while also showing thematic plurality and a broad chronological impact of the phenomenon.

Conferences will be offered by experts from both the UAB and other academic institutions and will focus on issues such as the feminist movement in 1968, criticism to weapons in Europe, workers' movements, sexual revolutions and party membership among young people and its evolution during the 1960s. The inauguration will be offered by UAB Rector Margarita Arbiox at 9:10 a.m. on 29 November.

Additionally, from 20 November to 21 December books related to the 1968 events will be on exhibit at the Humanities Library. In a parallel event, the Centre for Studies on Dictatorships and Democracies (CEDID) at the UAB organises a cinema series entitled "Els 68", which will be offered at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. Films will include Mai 68, la belle ouvrage by Jean-Louis Magneron (20 November), and L'Ile de mai by Michel Andrieu and Jacques Kébadian (27 November).
