Nepalese activist Indira Ranamagar, founder of Prisoners Assistance Nepal and winner of the 2014 World Children’s Honorary Award, will speak on Monday 13 April on the situation of prisoners and their children in Nepal.

On Monday 13 April, at 1:15 pm, the Aula 51 (G5) of the UAB Faculty of Education will receive activist Indira Ranamagar, who will offer a conference entitled “Love Beyond Bars”. The conference will give Indira Ranamagar, founder of the non-profit organisation Prisoners Assistance Nepal and winner of the 2014 World’s Children’s Honorary Award, the chance to explain in detail the lives of Nepalese prisoners and their children. The event receives the support of Kaliu Nepal, a non-profit association advocating for a better quality of life in Nepal.

“Giving prisoners and their children a better today and a brighter future” will be one of the central axes of Ranamagar's conference on Monday. Ranamagar has spent years working to defend the basic rights of prisoners and of their families in Nepal. Her organisation works towards transforming prisons into places in which interns can receive help and build a better future for themselves.

The conference on Monday 13 April at the UAB will be a chance for Ranamagar to share will all those attending her experience as a defender of human rights and the rights of children. The event has been organised by the Students' Council of the Faculty of Education together with the association Dinamització Comunitària.
