From quanta to quantum computer

April 2016

The exhibition presents schematically the development of quantum mechanics, from its origins to the early twentieth century, with the key ideas proposed by its founding to the present, and as envisaged in the near future. This trend, which has had a major impact on our understanding of the world and our daily lives, has resulted in new technologies for quantum information processing, impact of which is expected to be even more important throughout the century. All this is complemented by a display of books that includes some of the most important texts on quantum physics of the twentieth century, first in Spanish, and current books and scientific outreach. They also show some quantum devices, such as a random number generator based on quantum phenomena.
Inside the library you will find a selection of popular science books available for loan explain quantum physics in a fun and understandable.
