Fontdelcat - intercomprehension as a tool

On 12 December, the FontdelCat programme was presented in the Graduate Hall (Sala de graus) of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters. This online application offers access to the Catalan language for university mobility students who know at least one romance language.

The UAB Language Service, together with three modern languages departments have worked on this project, which was set up by the Institute of Educational Sciences (ICE). This multi-media programme is fully integrated within the line of intercomprehension as a facilitator for language learning being developed at this university.

The event contributed to publicising the online projects developed by the Language Service with other key agents in the field of languages, such as the ICE itself, the modern languages departments and the Institut Ramon Llull.

Taking part in the presentation were Dr. Mavi Dolz, Head of the Area of Language of the Institut Ramon Llull, Dr. Manuel Tost, director of the FontdelCat project and Anna Serra, teacher in the Catalan Section of the UAB Language Service.
