Flu vaccination campaign begins
From 13 October to 10 December, the UAB Healthcare Service will be running a flu vaccination campaign for the entire university community.

From 13 October to 10 December, the university community will be able to receive the flu vaccine administered by the UAB Healthcare Service. The vaccination campaign is available to the entire university community, especially those at high risk of complications related to the flu.
The Government of Catalonia's Ministry for Health recommends the flu vaccine for:
- People 60 years and older.
- Pregnant women.
- People with chronic diseases.
- People with morbid obesity.
- People with celiac disease.
- Smokers.
- People with cancer, immunosuppression, and blood disorders.
- Carers of people with any of the abovementioned conditions.
- People who perform essential services for the community.
- People with direct occupational exposure to domestic birds or pigs, on farms or poultry and pig farms, as well as to wild birds. The aim is to reduce the chanves of co-infection of human and avian or swine viruses, and to decrease the possibility of genetic recombination of both viruses.
- Healthcare workers (including non-clinical staff working in healthcare facilities: administration, cleaning, maintenance, etc.).
- People who work in pharmacies.
- Teaching staff, especially those in nurseries and early childhood education.
The flu vaccination schedule is Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and Thursdays from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. An appointment must be booked by calling 93 581 13 11.
The Healthcare Service also administers tetanus/diphtheria, hepatitis B, and hepatitis A vaccines.
