Some 20 entities and businesses will participate in the first edition of this job orientation fair that aims to help define and make visible a variety of professional profiles.

The Faculty of Political Science and Sociology will host the first edition of the Engega't 2023 fair on 19 and 20 April, to showcase the professional profiles of work placements available to students and put employers in contact with them.

"In the social sciences, graduates find work, but there is a lot of uncertainty about what the labour market is asking for, what the demands and offers available are, and what skills are valued. That's why we decided to organise this first fair where entities, whether or not they offer work placements, can meet students who are thinking about enrolling in work placements this next academic year", explains Dafne Muntanyola-Saura, Vice-Dean of Communication, Professionalisation and TFG of the Faculty of Political Science and Sociology at the UAB.

The UAB Employability Service will be in charge of the networking dynamics to liven up the sessions. There will be workshops and networking sessions, micro-presentations by employers and activities to define possible career opportunities for graduates in Sociology, Political Science and International Relations.

Thus, participating during these two days will be companies and organisations in the field of international cooperation, public administration, private and public research, cooperatives and social economy, social intervention and community participation, communication and data analysis.

Some of these entities and companies are the Catalan Agency for Development Cooperation, the Catalan Ombudsperson, the City Council of Sant Boi de Llobregat, the Pere Closa Private Foundation, the cooperative Coop 4 Equality Social Consulting, the Research Group on Democracy, Elections and Citizenship (GRDEC), the International Volunteer CCONG, and the Olof Palme International Foundation, among others.

The fair will take place between 1 and 3 p.m. in classrooms 1 and 2 of the Faculty of Political Science. To participate please sign up through Nexus.
