The UAB Language Service has developed an application for mobile devices for language lovers.

Falsos Amics is an app that shows words in different pairs of Romance languages, which are written practically the same but have different meanings. These words often lead us into traps and are false friends.

The application shows lists of false friends in context so that you can deduce the meaning by putting your interlinguistic comprehension into action. The following languages are included: Catalan, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese and Romanian.

After you have used the app you will see that you know more languages than you thought, and you’ll realise that you are multilingual and that the similarity among Romance languages has activated your brain!
