Culture brings together nearly 8,000 people at the UAB during the 2025/26 academic year
Nearly 8,000 people participated in the almost 150 activities offered by the Culture and Heritage Unit during the 2025/26 academic year. With a diverse programme that combined performing arts, film, music, heritage and community initiatives, the UAB consolidates culture as a driving force for participation, learning and social transformation on campus.
Culture once again demonstrates to be an essential part of university life at the UAB. During the 2025/26 academic year, the Culture and Heritage Unit offered nearly 150 cultural activities, which have brought together around 8,000 people, consolidating the campus as a space for meeting, participation and creation.
The programme combined cinema, theatre, music, exhibitions, art workshops, community activities, and heritage-related events. Among the most active venues were the Theatre Hall, with 55 activities and 2,300 audience members, and the Cinema Hall, with 40 activities and 3,000 audience members.
The course also strengthened collaboration with faculties, departments, master's programmes, and research groups through initiatives such as the performance Rita, the Early Music concert by La Zarzamora, various heritage exhibitions, and screenings linked to the academic sphere.
The social dimension of culture has been another of the key strands, with initiatives such as Culture and Health Week, Inclusive Arts Week, and Culture and Human Rights Week, which have turned the campus into a space for reflection, awareness-raising, and participation.
In-house creations also played a central role, featuring workshops in theatre, dance, music, and writing, as well as the hosting of the 4th Xarxa Vives University Theater Biennial at the UAB, which brought together nine universities.
With this programme, the UAB reaffirms its commitment to an open, accessible and transformative culture that connects students with new ways of learning, expressing themselves, and taking an active part in the university community.
