Coaching Psychology arrives to UAB

11/10/2011
Coaching psychology uses the science of psychology and proven coaching methods to improve both personal and professional wellbeing. Coaching works with non clinical individuals (persons with no mental disorders or high levels of emotional suffering) with the aim of boosting their wellbeing and helping them achieve personal and professional objectives. The psychology of coaching achieves these objectives based on scientific knowledge of human behaviour and by putting into practice effective coaching techniques.
The First International Congress of Coaching Psychology Spain is the first of its kind to take place in this country. It was organised in collaboration with UAB by the following organisations: Col·legi Oficial de Psicòlegs de Catalunya (COPC), Consejo General de Colegios Oficiales de Psicólogos and Psicofundación.
Participating in the meeting were psychology coaches from around the world specialising in different business areas, personal relations, education, sports, health, etc. who discussed personal experiences and the results of their researches.
The plenary session entitled "The Past, Present and Future of Coaching Psychology", with Stephen Palmer, considered the founding father of this movement, together with Peter Zarris, focused on what psychologists and psychology have to offer the field of coaching.
