Barcelona Graduate School of Economics among the top 20 worldwide

06/05/2011
According to the rankings carried out this April by RePEc (Research Papers in Economics), an independent institution dedicated to bibliometric analysis in economics and related disciplines. This is the only ranking which compares institutions and departments dedicated to research in economics. The ranking, which studies a total of 5,285 institutions worldwide, is based on the combined impact of publications. Similar rankings do not exist in other disciplines, but the result of this ranking is something without precedents with regard to research in Catalonia and in Spain.
The Barcelona GSE was founded in 2006 with the objective of promoting cutting-edge research and offer top quality postgraduate training in economics. Its academic community is made up of four groups: the Department of Economics and Business of Pompeu Fabra University; the Unit of Economic Analysis of Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona; the Institute for Economic Analysis of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC); and the Research Centre for International Economics (CREI).
