Argó Awards ceremony held for the best CFGS research projects

The UAB held an awards ceremony for the winners of the best advanced vocational training courses' research projects in this 19th edition of the Argó Awards, organised by the UAB Institute of Education Studies (ICE). The event took place on 13 July at the Rectorat building of the UAB campus.

The Argó Awards to the best research projects by students from advanced vocational training courses were handed out by the vice director of the ICE and lecturer Anna Ortiz, the jury president and lecturer Jordi Barbé, member of the UAB Social Council Tirso Gracia, and coordinator of the programme, secretary of the jury and lecturer Begonya Oliveras, who also moderated the event.

The three top winners presented their projects to the audience, which was formed by lecturers, families and friends who filled the conference hall.

The first prize went to Nico Rodriguez Orth and his project on rain entitled Habitar la pluja, from the Massana School of Art, Barcelona. Nico was not able to attend, but did send a video presentation of his project.

The second and third prizes wen to Gorka Salgado Rangel, for his project CaixaPuzle, from the Institut Escola del Treball, Barcelona, and Jennifer Pastor van Oudheusden and Joan Torres Losa, for their project entitled Gel d'àcid hialurònic, from the Institut Narcís Monturiol, Barcelona. Apart from these three prizes, other honorable mentions were awarded.

To end the event, the UAB Choir offered a perfomance of four musical pieces and lecturer Jordi Barbé gave a closing speech in which he thanked the ICE and the students' tutos for their work in accompanying the participants and organising the event. He also encouraged students to continue to learn and gain knowledge with a quote from philosopher Antonio Gramsci: "we must always educate ourselves to understand and transform the reality surrounding us".
