The volunteer group on the FAS Health Programme has carried out 15 activities during the academic year, which have reached almost 1000 UAB students. A group of 10 volunteers has made this possible.
The Health Programme of the Fundació Autònoma Solidària (FAS) has the objective of moving away from the moral and paternalistic prejudices that revolve around sexuality and drug use. Therefore a series of activities are organised during the academic year with the objective of offering objective information and raise awareness in the university community about healthy lifestyles.

This year the Health Programme has organised 15 activities that have reached about 1000 people. First of all, there have been several informative stands with games and debate points at the Festa Major of the UAB, the Healthy Week, the Women's Day, the World AIDS Day or Carnival.

In addition, this year the FAS Health Programme has also innovated. On the one hand, the first edition of the Erotic Story Contest took place during the celebration of Sant Jordi. It was a very well valued first edition because of the high participation (a total of 44 works, of which 5 of poetry, 23 of prose and 16 tweets) and also because of the quality and perspective of the writings, which were read on April 23. According to Júlia Betrian, technical manager of the Health Programme, "it is a novelty that would be interesting to repeat next year."

Secondly, the volunteer group on the Health Programme has also worked to fight against eating disorders through #ResSer, and against the exclusion and stigmas of people with HIV by joining campaigns promoted by external bodies, such as the Taula de Diàleg (Dialogue Table) for the prevention of eating disorders or CESIDA. The video produced by the volunteer group participated in the contest proposed by CESIDA "HIV THINK THANK".

However, the main activity has been with no doubt the "Xiringu", the travelling advice and information centre that is available to all students from every faculty on the campus. Therefore, according to the technical manager, the objective for the next academic years is promoting and strengthening this programme.

We cannot forget the training offered in collaboration with other entities such as Actuavallès, CESIDA and the Department of Health, that allows access to quality information about sexuality, eating habits and drug use. There has been training about alternative perspectives of sexuality, the human papillomavirus, among others.

The activities of the 2013/2014 academic year have been possible thanks to a volunteer group composed of 10 people that dedicate their free time to the Health Programme.

This Programme is supported by the Department of Health of the Generalitat de Catalunya to carry out awareness activities on sexuality, affectivity and drug use.
