A musical Christmas at UAB!

04/12/2015
Christmas is here and the UAB Choir and Orchestra will be giving their much awaited Christmas Concert on Thursday, 17 December at 2 p.m. The concert will take place in the UAB Theatre (Plaça Cívica) and will include a wide-ranging musical repertoire for all tastes.
This concert is a good opportunity to listen to a live performance of secular and religious music of various periods and styles: Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, and 20th century.
Among the pieces sung by the choir, conducted by Poire Vallvé, will be Eco mormorar l'onde by Claudio Monteverdi, the spiritual Ev'ry time (arranged by Bob Chilcott) and Cançó del somni, by Jaume Pahissa. The orchestra, conducted by Jesús Badia, will play Concerto Grosso by G.F. Haendel, the Overture "El CID" by Antonio Sacchinii and Tuttifäntche by Paul Hindemith.
In the concert finale, the Choir and Orchestra will join together to fill the hall with a good dose of Christmas spirit, performing Adeste Fideles (version by Paul Hindemith) and the traditional Catalan carol Nit de Vetlla (version by Poire Vallvé).
