50th anniversary celebrations end with a closing ceremony

After a series of commemorative activities held throughout the pas two academic years, the UAB ends its 50 years celebrations with a closing ceremony on 6 June. Places are limited and all those interested in attending must sign up before 30 May.

On 6 June, the Plaça Acadèmica (in front of the Rectorat building) will play host to the closing ceremony of the UAB's 50th anniversary celebrations. The ceremony will include a concert by The Bazaga's, who will play cover songs from the 1980s. There will also be food trucks and a DJ will be playing music before the concert. The event will begin at 8:30 p.m.

Tickets cost 10 Euros per person and include one meal, dessert, a drink and an institutional cup. Places are limited and all those interested in attending must sign up before 30 May. Payment must be made by bank transfer to the CaixaBank account number ES95 2100 5000 5202 0023 8044 (Concept: FESTA 6 DE JUNY + NAME and SURNAME + number of tickets desired; group tickets can be paid all at the same time).

The UAB was founded on 6 June 1968. During the 2017/18 and 2018/19 academic years, the university has celebrated its 50th anniversary with a series of institutional events and cultural activities, such as the inaugural ceremonies at the Monastery of Sant Cugat and the Gardens of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, and the five exceptional honorary doctorates awarded to Jaume Plensa, Marie-Paule Kieny, Caddy Adzuba, Lisa Randall and Joaquim Maria Puyal. Among other activities, the book L'audàcia del coneixement. 50 anys UAB was also published and several exhibitions were organised, as well as concerts in Sabadell and Barcelona and a commemorative dinner on 6 June 2018.
