27 doctoral programmes awarded for excellence

UAB was awarded excellence distinctions by the Spanish Ministry for Education for 27 of its doctoral programmes. This award goes to programmes selected for being internationally renowned.

17/10/2011

The distinction in quality or excellence of doctoral programmes, evaluated by the National Quality Assessment and Accreditation Agency (ANECA) and awarded by the Ministry for Education, represents an official recognition to the scientific and technical competence and the training value of these programmes at national level. The award is given after an external assessment process taking into account several different parameters such as programme content, structure and objectives.

In this edition the agency evaluated doctoral programmes offered at universities in Spain during the 2010/11 academic year. The award for excellence is valid until the 2013/14 academic year. The awarded programmes will be added to the Integrated University Information System (Sistema Integrado de Información Universitaria) and will be subject to periodical follow-ups by ANECA to ensure that the standards of quality are being upheld.
