Get healthy on campus with the PTGAS paddle tennis tournament
We invite you to participate in a sports proposal designed particularly for the technical, management, administration and services staff (PTGAS) of the UAB as part of the closing sports event of the SAF's 40th anniversary. Sign up for the exclusive paddle tennis tournament for the PTGAS and enjoy an active and fun afternoon on campus, on Thursday 28 May from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at the SAF paddle tennis courts.
The competition will be played in pairs, which will be maintained throughout the day. The pairs can be male, female or mixed, and will be divided into two groups (A and B).
The tournament will be held in a round-robin format, with each pair playing every other pair. Each pair will be able to play a maximum of five 20-minute matches in this phase. Once completed, the best ranked pairs will advance to the final phase.
Participants will have access to the changing rooms and community areas of the SAF during the activity hours. In addition, they can request to borrow paddle rackets and balls.
Free registration and limited places
Participation is free and exclusive to the UAB PTGAS, whether or not they are a SAF member. Places are limited and will be assigned in order of registration.
Registration will be in pairs and can be done until 26 May (or until all places are filled) by accessing this PTGAS - UAB Round-Robin Tournament form with your UAB institutional account.
Commemorative t-shirts will be raffled at the end of each class among all the participants of the different 40th anniversary activities. Participants will also enter a draw for a tote bag and a total of 3 free accesses to the SAF during the 25/26 academic year during special hours*.

*The draw for the bag and free access will take place during the week of 1 June 2026. The winners will be contacted via the email registered in the database of subscribers. The special access hours to the SAF entitle you to use the sports facilities and open-system guided activities from Monday to Thursday until 4:00 p.m. and on Friday, Saturday and Sunday during all opening hours until 31 August 2026. This access can be given to another person. If this person is not a subscriber to the SAF, they must pay the amount of the SAF-UAB sports insurance or have taken out the UAB complementary insurance to be able to use the prize.
