Do you want to understand how institutions cooperate globally towards global justice? Catalan universities have opened a new course that promotes transformative cooperation and reinforces the role of the university as an agent of social change.

Cartell Curs Uniact!

Starting in March 2026, all twelve Catalan universities will offer a training course on global justice open to all university students. Students who pass it will obtain 2 ECTS credits.

The aim of the initiative is to ensure that students know the context of current global challenges and, at the same time, that they can develop a plural and critical perspective on global justice.

Content focused on cooperation and global transformation

The course will cover twelve key topics linked to global justice, such as peace, transformative economics, climate justice, the defense of human rights, and gender justice.

Throughout the sessions, teaching experts will explain the main actors and cooperation mechanisms, as well as the challenges to promote a university committed to research, teaching and social impact.

In order to encourage student participation, an innovative and flexible format has been adopted. The course is presented in a format of several audiovisual pieces of a maximum of 25 minutes, which students can view, pause and resume at any time. Each unit concludes with documentaries and other resources related to the theory and multiple-choice tests as an assessment.

To gain the 2 ECTS credits, students must participate in an awareness-raising and global justice activity organised by the Fundació Autònoma Solidària on the UAB campus.

In addition to training, the course focuses on the strategic role of the university in international cooperation, not as a complementary activity, but as a tool with the capacity for real impact.

Those interested in the course can sign up here and become part of the change!

United in cooperation actions

This course is the result of the UNIACT! (Universities in Action for a Transformative Cooperation) initiative, which aims to strengthen relations between Catalan universities and cooperation actors.

The project was devised by the CIC Technical Network and is being led by the University of Girona (UdG) and the Catalan Agency for Development Cooperation, in coordination with the Catalan Ministry for Research and Universities.
