The UAB ranks top in Spain in sustainability and papers per faculty

It is ranks 68th in Europe and second in Spain in the 2026 edition of the QS World University Rankings: Europe. With this result, the UAB is among the 7% of the top universities in Europe, and ranks first in Spain in sustainability and in papers per faculty.

In the 2026 edition of the QS World University Rankings: Europe, the UAB ranks 68th in Europe and second in Spain. With this result, the UAB is in the 7% (10% in 2025 edition) of top European universities. Regarding Spanish universities, the UAB moves up from third to second place in Spain, behind the UB, which occupies position 60 in Europe.

By indicators, the UAB is the top university in Spain in sustainability (48th in Europe) and in papers by faculty (54th in Europe), and is very well placed in the academic reputation survey, in position 38. Regarding the internationalisation of research, the UAB is 71st in Europe in international research network, an improvement of five positions compared to the previous edition. Regarding the overall score, the UAB moves up almost seven points and obtains a score of 79.7 out of 100.

This edition of the QS World University Rankings: Europe has ranked 958 institutions from 42 countries, an increase of 273 institutions compared to previous editions.
