Joaquim Segalés awarded the Osonenc of the Year 2024 Award
Professor Joaquim Segalés from the Department of Animal Health and Anatomy of the UAB Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and researcher of the Centre for Animal Health Research (IRTA-CreSa) has been chosen Osonenc of the Year 2024, an award conferred each year by the newspaper El 9 Nou.
On 30 May, Joaquim Segalés received the award during the gala held in Orís, Osona. Among the ten candidates shortlisted by the jury, the popular vote of the readers and subscribers of El 9 Nou positioned him as a finalist.
The professor and researcher is a member of the club of the best researchers in the field of veterinary sciences created by Stanford University and is one of the most influential experts on a global scale for his research.
The Osonenc of the Year Award is an annual award given by El 9 Nou, the leading media of the region, with the aim of recognising people or groups from Osona who have stood out for their social, cultural, scientific or professional contribution throughout the year.
