Francisca Blánquez elected director of the UAB Graduate School

Francisca Blánquez, lecturer in the Department of Chemical, Biological and Environmental Engineering, has been appointed director of the UAB Graduate School.

Francisca Blánquez Cano is professor in the Department of Chemical, Biological and Environmental Engineering. Her teaching focuses on the fundamentals of chemical engineering and environmental processes, and her research is focused on the treatment of contaminated water and soil by biological processes. Since July 2019 she has been assistant director of Academic Actions in the School of Engineering.

The mission of the Graduate School is to coordinate, manage and promote the continuing education offer of the UAB. The director will be in charge, among other functions, of monitoring the programming policy of the UAB's own postgraduate and continuing education studies, and of promoting the implementation of micro-credentials as a training and accreditation modality for training processes.

Micro-credentials play a central role in the field of lifelong learning and are an opportunity for the UAB to take advantage of its potential and meet the specific training needs of its surroundings, thus improving the socio-economic development of the area and the employability and professional careers of its individuals.
