The aim of the conference is to exchange experiences, reach consensus and analyse, discuss and propose recommendations and protocols for action on key issues of the plans and strategies that affect the R&D&i of Spanish universities. The first day will take place at the UAB campus, with the meeting of the five networks that are part of the Sectorial Commission of R&D&i of the CRUE: RedUGI (research management), RedOTRI (transfer of research results), RedDivulga (dissemination and scientific culture), RedOE (European offices) and REBIUN (university libraries). On 30 November and 1 December, the meeting will be held at the World Trade Centre in Barcelona.

The institutional opening of the conference will take place on 30 November at 9:30 a.m., with the presence of Minister for Science, Innovation and Universities Diana Morant; Minister for Research and Universities Joaquim Nadal; UAB Rector Javier Lafuente; and President of CRUE Spanish Universities Eva Alcón.

This edition will deal with topics of great interest for the Spanish research system, such as the reform of research evaluation at ANECA (National Association for Quality Assessment and Accreditation), which will be the focus of the opening speech, given by the director of this organisation, Pilar Paneque. The results of the survey on research and knowledge transfer in universities will also be presented by Vice Rector for Innovation and Transfer of the Polytechnic University of Valencia Salvador Coll Arnau.

Other topics to be discussed at different round tables will address research ethics and new aspects to be considered in this field, such as the emergence of ChatGPT or related to publication behaviour and strategies; and research in Spanish universities, with international impact, open science and gender perspective as main focuses.
