With these projections, the aim is to bring cinema closer to the entire UAB community. Free of charge, attendees can enjoy a movie that will arrive in the commercial cinemas the following day. The objective is to offer the maximum variety in programming, this academic year, for example, it has been screened films from 13 different countries: Spanish cinema such as Quién te cantará, by Carlos Vermut, the Danish film with The Guilty, by Gustav Möller, or Paraguayan with Las herederas, by Marcelo Martinessi.

As for the variety of genres, we have screened documentaries, an example is Fahrenheit 11/9, by Michael Moore, about the rise to power of the American president Donald Trump or El Silencio de otros, by Almudena Carracedo and Robert Bahar, which shows the fight of Franco's victims until today. Felix Velen Groeningen's drama Beautiful Boy was the most watched film and there was also comedies with films like Tout le monde debout, by Franck Dubosc or Riccardo Milani's Come un gatto in Tangenziale. The surprise of this year has been the presence of science fiction, by the hand of High Life, by Claire Denis.

Many of the films screened at Sala Cinema UAB have triumphed at various festivals and have been acclaimed by international critics. The great example is Cold War, by Pawel Pawlikowski, which was awarded Best Director at Cannes Film Festival and Best Foreign Film at Goya Prizes and nominated for both the Oscar Awards and the British BAFTA, among others. The Lebanese Cafarnaúm, by Nadine Labaki, was also nominated for the Oscars and the BAFTA, among others, and was awarded in Cannes with the Jury Prize. Glenn Close, the protagonist of The Good Wife, by Björn Runge, obtained many prizes such as Best Actress in the Golden Globes. Entre dos aguas, by the Catalan director Isaki Lacuesta, won prizes at Gaudí Awards and at San Sebastián Festival. Finally, the most controversial film projected this year was Lars Von Trier's The House that Jack Built. The Danish director, who often polarizes the opinions of the critics and the public, generated controversy among the audience of the preview with a thriller that did not lack gore doses.

We would like to thank you all for making this initiative possible with your presence and we look forward to seeing you next October 24th!
