At the FAS, we work along the following cooperation lines:
A University Committed to Global Justice
We promote an open, diverse and socially committed university that connects education, research and knowledge transfer with local and global challenges. We foster projects and meeting spaces that bring together young people, students, teaching staff, academic institutions and social organisations to build transformative alliances and shared responses to structural inequalities
Transformative education with a critical perspective and social commitment
We promote a critical understanding of global inequalities, their structural causes, and the responsibility of the Global North and the current economic, social and political model. This perspective integrates Global Justice into university education and the cross-cutting production of knowledge.
We also work to ensure the inclusion of vulnerable groups and strive to incorporate feminist, anti-racist, decolonial, intercultural and intersectional perspectives into education, promoting learning that is committed to social transformation, the defence of human rights and a culture of peace.
UAB Refugee Programme, the right to education crosses borders
We reinforce the university's commitment to the fundamental rights of refugees, migrants, and asylum seekers. We promote training, communication, awareness-raising, advocacy, and social mobilization initiatives regarding the causes and consequences of forced displacement, the right to asylum, and the importance of guaranteeing human rights. We develop projects in partnership with faculty, research groups, civil society organizations, and social movements.
We work with organizations and public administrations for social transformation
We strengthen collaborative work with universities, public administrations, and social organizations to move towards an education committed to global justice. We build local and international alliances that enable the sharing of knowledge, the promotion of joint projects, and the generation of social impact from the university community.
